WinCo is a blend of the words Winning Company. It is majorly employee-owned company by both current and former employees of the supermarket chain who have an employee stock ownership plan. It has over 100 locations across the US. The company is headquartered in Boise, Idaho.
WinCo achieves reduction of operating costs by procuring produce directly from suppliers rather than using middle men. It has employed more than 20,000 people. In June 2020, the restaurant chain was in the 59th position in Forbes’s list of the largest privately owned US companies.
